are
a light horse breed founded in middle Tennessee. The Tennessee
Walking Horse is a composition of Narragansett and Canadian Pacer,
Standardbred, Thoroughbred, Morgan, and American Saddlebred stock.
However, studies performed by Dr. E. Gus Cothran indicate that the TWH
has Mountain Pleasure Horse ancestors as well. Take a look at
this article to read more: Rewriting
History, Mountain Pleasure Horses. Originally bred as a
utility horse, this breed is an ideal mount for riders of all ages and
levels of experience. The breed has a calm, docile temperament
combined with naturally smooth and easy gaits. The Tennessee
Walking Horse is gaining more popularity for all around saddle horses. We
only have one Tennessee Walker left due to the fact we are focusing
more on the Mountain Pleasure and Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horses.
Lily, pictured below, is also
registered Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse. We felt she would
be a great asset to the KMSHA, as she is a very quite, gentle tempered
mare.
