Meadow Creek Reno (Boaz) is everything we look for in a
Mountain Pleasure Horse. He is one of the most level-headed horses
we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Boaz aims to please his handler
and rider in every way possible. Most would never know he's not a
gelding with his gentle nature. He is also very respectful of other
horses on the trails. In fact, he is regularly ridden with mares both
in front of, behind and beside him along the trail. Boaz knows when a
rider is on his back, it's time to work. He's one of the most game
horses on the trail, never denying the opportunity to take on a
challenge. In addition to his wonderful trail traits, Boaz will pull a
cart or buggy as classy as you could ask for! These are all typical
traits that a Mountain Pleasure Horse is bred for. We believe that if
you can't do all of these things safely with a stallion, he shouldn't
be kept one. Boaz has ALWAYS proven himself as a safe, wonderful
stallion for all of our family to enjoy!

Boaz has only been shown 1 time in his life.
We took him to the UMH/KMSHA show in Clemson, SC in May 2005. Ted was
asked to carry the flag on Boaz. Remember, this was Boaz's first time
in a ring. It was a large covered arena with lots of echoing, other
horses around, and plenty of activity going on in general. Boaz never
once showed any signs of distress! He carried the flag like a horse
that was proud to be doing so! In fact, we were sure that he enjoyed
the event. Although he looked fantastic, Boaz's forte is not in the
show ring. He shines on the trail where it matters the most to us! Click to see him carrying

Boaz is primarily used for a
riding horse. However, we use him to breed to our mares. He has sired
four fantastic colts.
See his offspring below!!
Kingston
On June 2nd, 2006, MCR and Goldfinger's Ann really outdid themselves
with their first baby, Kingston. He's a golden palomino gelding with 4
tall stockings and a perfect blaze. He shows strong evidence that he
carries the sabino gene, as a lot of the Mountain Pleasure Horses do.
Not only is he very pretty, he is a very, very horse
with a docile temperament. He has an excellent four-beat smooth and fast
gait. He's very flashy under saddle.
Kingston is happily living with Sallie in Missouri!
Have fun with him, Sallie!
Another
fine colt by Meadow Creek Reno and Mountain
Lace! Proudly owned by Harold Bottoms. Looks just like his daddy!!
Lucky Mountain is
yet another tribute to his sire, MCR. This colt will bow, park, count
and do many other tricks just by voice command alone! Congratulations
to Harold for raising and training this fine colt! We look forward to
seeing him under saddle one day!
~ April 2009 Update
~ Lucky Mountain is going well under saddle. Harold is very
pleased and excited with this colt (now a gelding). As soon as I
see him, I will get new pictures!
Reno's
Perfect
Apache
Reno's Perfect Apache is our newest colt by
Meadow Creek Reno and Coin's Perfect
Misstress. He was born September 9, 2007. This fine colt has very
unusual hind leg markings. He has one tall right hind stocking and a
partial left hind stocking. The left stocking shoots up the front like
a lightning bolt while it only appears to be a sock from the back view!
He has a perfect blaze also. He definitely shows evidence he carries
the sabino gene! (We don't breed for this gene, but MCR apparently
carries it and throws it to his babies!)
This colt was bred for a calm disposition, sure footedness on the
trail, smooth gait, and for a companion for life. I have said that this
colt is the product of my two favorite horses in the world... Boaz and
Lily! So far, he's showing that he's going to give us what we asked
for!! He's very gentle in the pasture, smart as a whip, tuned into your
every request. I've been told that he's a Natural Horsemanship
trainer's dream colt! With just the twitch of my finger, he'll canter
around the paddock as if I had a whip in my hand! He's very light in
the halter and mouth and responsive to the least bit of pressure.
GORGEOUS FLAX MANE AND TAIL!!! He
really stands out with that dark chestnut color and all that chrome!
He is 3 years
old now, 16 hands and a trail horse beyond belief! KMSHA
registered.
