Leather

Estes' Saddlery uses Wickett and Craig (W & C) leather out of Pennsylvania on a normal basis, along with Hermann Oak. These are the ONLY two skirting leathers that I will build a saddle on currently. They are the best leathers on the market today, plain and simple. Each one has its own personal qualities, and in the long haul, one is as good as the other in my opinion. Hermann Oak will feel twenty years old once it's oiled. It breaks in that easy. W & C might take a little longer to get that "broke-in" feeling, but it has its own qualities. Again, these are your best leathers out there. That's why I've decided not to use anything else from now on. There's cheaper leather out there, and I've found that it's just that - CHEAPER!
